Airport Information2017-11-24T14:15:10+00:00

Air New Zealand Link operates a regular, scheduled service using Bombardier Dash 8 Q300 (50 seats) aircraft. Air Nelson operates Dash 8s.

We welcome private and charter flights. Here are our current landing fees (pdf). Charter flights tend to use ATR72s, BAe Jetstreams, Metroliners and executive jets. Weight restrictions apply for larger aircraft such as C130s and Gulfstream Vs.

There’s quite a lot going on here. We’re home to the Bay of Islands Aero Club, private aircraft and hangars, pilot training courses, Bay of Islands Coastguard’s aerial unit, crop-sprayers, and scenic flight and sky-diving operators who use both fixed-wing planes and choppers. You can click on the logos of any of the organisations below to visit their websites.

The apron is available for charter operations with direct non-terminal access.

The airport is also used by private flights between Australia and New Zealand for Customs clearance and refuelling.
