Far North Holdings Ltd (FNHL) operate three airports in the Far North of New Zealand - Bay of Islands (Kerikeri), Kaitaia and Kaikohe. Commercial scheduled air services are operated from both Bay of Islands and Kaitaia airports with general aviation operating from all three.

 

 

Bay of Islands (Kerikeri) Airport

The airport is located west of Kerikeri - just a short drive from Paihia (the heart of Bay of Islands), Romantic Russell and Opua (the main port of entry for offshore vessels) and is owned and operated by FNHL. The airport is being developed as the primary commercial airport for the Northland region.

Air New Zealand Link operate four or five services each day to and from Auckland International and Salt Air operate two or three services each day to and from Whangarei and Auckland North Shore.

Kaitaia Airport

Kaitaia Airport is located north of the town and has two Air New Zealand Link flights each weekday to and from Auckland International with one flight on Saturdays and Sundays. This airport is managed and operated by FNHL for the Far North District Council.

Kaikohe Airport

Kaikohe Airport, having a grass runway, is located south of the town and is solely used for recreational purposes. Current users include a Gliding Club, Model Aircraft Club and a Skydiving operation.
